Allocation in budget to tackle child trafficking demanded

The Daily New Nation || Terming child trafficking as economic loss to the country, children called for provision for keeping special fund in the national budget in order to tackle the trafficking in the country.
The special fund can effectively help combat the crime. Besides, the affected children would get financial support following their rescue, they said.
Demanding their participation in different processes aimed at preventing the trafficking, the children called for taking steps for their protection and raising awareness about it.
They came up with the remarks at a campaign at Jamila Ainul Ananda School and College at Khilji Road in city’s Mohammdpur thana (Monday).
About 500 male and female students of the educational institution took part in the programme.
Community Participation and Development (CPD), a consortium member of Prevention of Child Trafficking through Strengthening Community and Networking (PCTSCN), organized the programme for creating awareness on child trafficking.
Mamunur Rashid, assistant secondary education officer of Mohammadpur thana, attended the function as the chief guest.
Chaired by Foyzia Kabir, principal, Rokeya Bilkis, assistant headmaster, Rafiqul Islam, assistant teacher of the educational institution, Sharifullah Reaz, project coordinator of PCTSCN, among others, spoke on the occasion. School managing committee members and guardians were also present
